Snowed Inn is located close to Killington Ski Resort, one of the premier skiing and outdoor recreation destinations on the East Coast. Less than 5 miles from the facility, you can enjoy the tranquility of a natural setting, while being only a short drive from your vacation’s entertainment. A complimentary bus shuttle pick up is provided compliments of Killington.

Killington Resort attracts outdoor enthusiasts from all over the world, in every season. It boasts seven mountains, six of which are connected by trails and lifts. The summit elevation is 4,241 feet with a vertical drop of 3,050 feet. It has 92 miles of skiing opportunities, and 212 trails for hiking, biking, snowshoeing, and more.

The resort has recreational opportunities for every level of skier and hiker. Challenge yourself on the steeper slopes and trails, or learn how to snowshoe or snowboard for the first time. Between guided tours, expert instruction, and ample opportunities, there’s something for everyone.

Snowed Inn serves as a central hub for it all – we are located next to the bus shuttle and just a mile from the Snowshed. Come relax in front of one of our fireplaces at the end of a fun-filled day!

With two dedicated lifts, re-designed and expanded beginner and intermediate trails built along with industry-leading designers Gravity Logic, and challenging downhill trails with natural and man-made features, Killington is the place to ride this summer.

A few other favorite spots:

  • For mountain bikers who like moderate terrain, an excellent choice is Pine Hill Park located in Rutland.
  • Moderate to semi-challenging mountain biking can be found between Killington and Pittsfield on the Contest Trail System.

If road biking is your passion, here a few suggested loops:

  • The Plymouth Loop, a moderate scenic lake route is about 32 miles long.
  • The Killington/Ludlow loop through the scenic lake region is about 45 miles long.
  • Silver Lake/ Barnard is a 62 mile loop offering moderate to challenging cycling.
  • Tyson/Reading is a 45 mile ride referred to as the “Alps,” suggested for expert bikers.
  • Killington to Sugarbush is a 120 mile ride including 4-6 challenging mountain gap climbs.
  • The immediate Killington area itself provides the cycling enthusiast with lots of challenging shorter climbs. We are happy to provide more detailed biking route information when you get here!

Not only is hiking in the Green Mountains of Vermont great exercise, but also a feast for the eyes with lush forests, wildflower covered meadows, babbling brooks, rushing waterfalls and panoramic mountain views. Not to mention nourishment for the soul. The Killington region offers a cornucopia of hiking opportunities. Here are just a few of the highlights:

  • The Appalachian Trail (a scenic 2175 mile national trail which runs from Georgia to Maine)
  • The Long Trail (270 miles long and the oldest long distance trail in the U.S.) traverse Killington with popular destinations such as Deer Leap with a spectacular view of Pico Mountain and the surrounding area, bucolic Kent Pond, and the roaring Thundering Falls.
  • The mountains of Killington offer a network of trails with stunning views of the Green Mountains, White Mountains, Presidential range and the Adirondacks. If you don’t want to hike all the way up, Killington’s K1 Gondola to the peak can whisk you to a magnificent viewing point.
  • Pico Peak Trail provides an exhilarating hike starting at the top of Sherburne Pass with a total distance of 5.4 miles that takes you to the 3,957-foot summit and back.
  • The Quechee Gorge hike, 25 minutes east of the Snowed Inn, takes you down 155 feet to the bedrock of the Ottaquechee River.
  • Only a 25 minute drive to the north of the Snowed Inn is the easy hike to Texas Falls through the picturesque forest to the breathtakingly beautiful waterfall. And not far away is the Robert Frost Trail, a short, but inspiring walk, punctuated by plaques with verses by the famed poet.
