Categories: Discover Vermont

We love to create "tours" for you to explore while you're staying with us at the inn. Our inn is the perfect anchor for your day excursions, and we really are at the heart of it all! Here's Tour #1, which will take you through scenic areas of Woodstock, Quechee and Plymouth.

A day spent driving to historic and picturesque area of Woodstock, VT is sure to fill your day and you may want to venture out for a few days in this area. This quintessential Vermont town has so many things to see and do that it will surely make everyone happy in your group. For history buffs, the Marsh Billings Rockefeller National Historical Park is at the heart of the town, with a working farm across the street - Billings Farm & Museum. You'll learn about the Rockerfeller family and their place in our local history. Shopping and walking abound in the town of Woodstock as well. If you enjoy nature, head a bit further East on Route 4 to see (and hike if you want) the Quechee Gorge, visit VINS (Vermont Institute of Natural Science) or hike the too many to list trails between here and there. On your swing back, stop in at Shackleton Thomas furniture and pottery in the old Bridgewater Mill on Route 4 in Bridgewater. You'll find gorgeously built Charles Shackleton woodworking as well as beautiful Miranda Thomas pottery. Swing left onto Route 100A after you leave the Mill and journey to the Calvin Coolidge Homestead and see and experience the village and home where the 30th President was born, lived and was sworn in to office by his father, just hours after President Harding passed.
